Just when I thought I was actually going to learn a foreign language, John comes homes and tells me that I might not be studying the foreign language I really need after all. He's been offered a transfer to Denmark, and should all the details fall into place, and we be blowin' this pop stand in a few weeks. I will have just gotten through the Russian alphabet in time!
I'm still going to be proud of the fact that I know what the letter that looks like a lollipop sounds like...."fuh".....all the while that I'm wondering what those two dots on top of the "o" in "kroner" mean. So, I haven't begun to pack yet or think about it too much. I did go online and find a quaint little abode that probably won't be available for rent when we get there, and I checked on importing Kenai. Thank goodness, Denmark isn't as bad as some countries but he has to go back to Canada for a few months before he can enter. From Azerbaijan he has to go through the blood test thing (he finally gets to use his microchip) but the wait following the test is only three months instead of six. Better he wait out his time at home. If he were coming direct from Canada he could come without delay but he gets a wee vacation instead.
Preliminary ideas....can't say plans yet....too early....have us leaving here in a few weeks. We'll get movers to come in and pack and load everything into a shipping container and when John goes to Copenhagen, I'll head to Halifax with the dog. From there, I know nothing.
Head spinning will commence next week. This week is dedicated to searching the internet for information, reading Twilight, cooking as much of the perishable food as I can, and generally taking it easy. This hanging in the limbo between "this is what's happening" and "this is actually happening!" is like this. Can't do a thing until everything is signed, sealed and fed exed....so more tea and carrot cake will do for now.
Oh! And I have a crap load of things I want to take pictures of and haven't done so yet. Time to begin a tentative list I suppose.

Hey there, Sally....Just finished reading your entire blog, from start to finish. Sort of stopped way back with "Homework Avoidance Issues" and finally got all caught up. Loved every single word!
Back to Denmark,eh? Did your gazebo ever get finished? And did you ever make that call to your Aunt Elizabeth?
Inquiring minds in mid-Michigan want to know.
Hugs to you! And give Kenai a milk bone for me. He's gorgeous!
The gazebo did eventually get finished....in October. It was too late to use it last year and I guess we won't be using it this year, either. I must admit it is a very very nice gazebo. The mangy dog next door, who we have dubbed "White Dog" has had another litter of pups and another Novruz Bayram is almost here. Time flies everywhere!
Good Ol' Sally, I think I see your agenda. I had to do a fair amount of catching up here, but methinks you just want to be able to shout out yet another country when standing in the back of the room at the next Gala. I think CA will whisper an aside to Jerome, "Oh Lord, there's that weird lady who yells out some other farflung country every year." Hee.
With that, hope you are well.
From: "Whatever", she who STILL has no access to Tim Horton here at home. *sigh*
